#020. Live for Yourself, Watch Friends, Updates !

Hello Reader,

This past month has been a whirlwind of realizations—patterns to release, new layers of leadership to embody.
Honestly, I don’t even know where to begin.

I just had a quick 30-minute call to gain clarity around a few personal relationships, and one truth stood out above all:

I deeply, soulfully, value connection.

At the core of who I am, I long to feel truly connected to others. Yet, I’m also aware of the duality we live in—where human behavior, shaped by society, often carries a shadow. (Is it time for a rewatch of the Star Wars saga? Absolutely.)

But here's where the reflection gets interesting:
Why is connection so vital to us?

Some journal prompts that came up for me—and might spark something for you:

  • Can I remember a time when I didn’t feel connected to my partner, family, or friends? Did that disconnection feel unsafe?
  • Can I embrace the idea that connection and disconnection are two sides of the same coin—a spectrum, not either/or ?
  • Does feeling connected satisfy a deeper human need: the need to belong?

On those thoughts, let's dive in.

"It is the belief that other people and what they did to you are responsible for who you are now, for your emotional pain or your inability to be your true self."

Eckhart Tolle

"You can't fix people"

Even now, it's one of the hardest truths to fully accept:
You can’t fix people.

Not your partner.
Not your parents.
Not your kids.
Not your boss.
Not your colleagues.

Yet… we try. Constantly.

We tell them what to do—and how to do it.
We offer advice they never asked for.
We step in and do it for them.
We say, “You should…”, “You better be…”
We sprinkle in “more” and “less”
We label them “too much” or “not enough”

And once you begin to see how often we do this…
It’s staggering.
We spend so much of our time shaping others, managing others, correcting others.

But here’s the real cost:

Every moment you spend trying to rewrite someone else’s story, you’re not writing your own.

You're not being the main character of your own life.

Ever thought about that?

One last thing I want to share with you:

Living for yourself is harder than living for others.

It takes more courage.
More trust in your inner voice.
More resilience to choose you—not your family’s expectations, not your boss’s approval, not “what people might think.”

We spend so much time trying to do the “right thing.”
But… right for whom, exactly?

We chase the good job, the safe path, the polished image.
But who are we really doing it for?

So often, we live for others—for acceptance, recognition, to be liked.
But who are these people, really?
Are they even the ones you'd invite over for coffee?

Live for yourself first.

Not selfishly. But honestly.

Talk to you soon,

Hello Reader, (reading time : 5 minutes) Imagine this: you’re coming home after a long day at work. It’s nearly 9 p.m., and you’re just hoping there’s something ready to eat or that your partner has taken care of dinner. Frustration starts to bubble up—sound familiar? You’re not alone; this...
